Welcome to our Collaborative and Safe Therapeutic Journey

I am thrilled to welcome you to what aspires to be at least a potential reformational, if not a transformational, and empowering experience. As we embark on this path together, I want to assure you that you have taken a courageous step toward healing, growth, and self-discovery.
In this therapeutic journey, we will create a space where you can feel heard, validated, and supported unconditionally. This journey is about you and your unique story, experiences, and goals. I am here to guide and walk alongside you as we navigate the challenges, obstacles, and triumphs that may arise.
Collaboration lies at the heart of our therapeutic journey. This is not a one-sided endeavor - we will work together as equal partners, each bringing our expertise to the table. Your voice will be heard, and I value your input and perspective throughout our time together. Together, we will explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, seeking understanding and identifying areas where positive change is possible.
One of the foundations of our therapeutic journey is safety. I want you to feel secure and assured that this is a confidential and non-judgmental space. It is a space where you can be vulnerable, express yourself freely, and explore parts of yourself that may have been hidden or neglected. I will prioritize creating an atmosphere of trust and acceptance where you can feel comfortable sharing your deepest fears, insecurities, and aspirations.
Throughout our journey, I will draw from my professional expertise and training in psychology to guide our conversations and interventions. I am a passionate and experienced therapist, constantly updated with the latest research and therapeutic approaches. My aim is to provide you with evidence-based interventions tailored to your specific needs, so we can achieve meaningful progress together.
This journey is not without its challenges but is filled with immense potential for growth and self-discovery. I am committed to walking with you every step of the way, offering guidance, encouragement, and support. We will celebrate your accomplishments, acknowledge setbacks, and uncover the strengths that will help you overcome obstacles.
I am truly honored to be a part of your therapeutic journey. Together, we will explore the rich tapestry of your life, uncovering your true potential and guiding you toward a more fulfilling and meaningful existence.
Welcome, once again, to our collaborative and safe therapeutic journey. Let's begin this transformative and empowering adventure together.
Warm regards,
(DrB) Dr. Robert J. Berchick, Ph.D., ABPP, A-CBT, CCTP

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES SPECIFIC TO TELEHEALTH SERVICES

There are specific procedures we need to have in place specific to telehealth services. These are for your safety in case of an emergency and are as follows:  You understand that if you are having suicidal or homicidal thoughts, experiencing psychotic symptoms, or in a crisis that cannot resolve itself remotely, I may determine that you need a higher level of care and Telehealth services are not appropriate.

If Telehealth with me appears appropriate, I require an Emergency Contact Person (ECP) who I may contact on your behalf in a life-threatening emergency only. Please supply me this person’s name and contact information. Either you or I will verify that your ECP is willing and able to go to your location in an emergency. Additionally, if you, your ECP, or I determine it necessary, please go to the nearest hospital.
